Help Write the Great American Novel for Charity!

Hello. My name is Mark Jacobson and I'm about to propose an unusual collaboration. I've been a writer for more than 30 years. I'm a pretty good writer, as you will see if you go to my website GlobalBusinessGhostwriter.com and take a look at my resume. I have been praised for my writing ability and have always been proud of my work. I live a middle-class life and I'm very happy, but I've never been able to accumulate enough time to do the one thing I've wanted to do for more than 30 years... write the Great American novel. Now, we all can.

Here’s how it works:
Sit down and write your best prose for the Great American novel. You can write 100 words, 1000 words or anything in between. Your words will be included in the Great American novel that I will edit and publish. I will clean up grammar and, of course, make sure that the story flows. I will supply you with the first chapter (This website will be updated periodically so that you can follow the storyline.) but the rest is up to you. Names, places, timeframe and background can be created by you as long as the story moves forward. Flashbacks are allowed as long as they eventually move the story forward.

I want to get as many people involved in this project as possible. There is a minimum of 100 words and a maximum of 1,000 words, but you can submit multiple times as long as your submissions are not consecutive.

As a bonus, your submission will also entitle you to special announcements sneak peeks and invitations to events surrounding the writing and promotion of the Great American novel.

Submissions must be in Word or WordPerfect format with the word count clearly displayed at the top left corner of the page. Both wordprocessing programs have built-in word counting programs. E-mail submissions to: GAN@GlobalBusinessGhostwriter.com as an attachment or cut and paste document. Put GAN in the subject line. If your submission is selected, you will receive an e-mail within 48 hours and you will be listed as a contributing writer when the book is published.

I pledge to utilize every bit of my experience and skill as a writer, editor, publicist and marketer to ensure the success of this important and worthwhile project. That, in a nutshell, is my proposal. If it has piqued your interest and sense of adventure, then I would be proud to have you take this journey with me.
